Respectful Language

Use respectful language to ensure interactions are appropriate and inclusive of each individual's diversity, incorporating courteous and positive statements, addressing individuals by their preferred name, employing inclusive language, and using physical demonstrations to foster understanding and respect.

Always remember that there is a person behind the dementia. When we see the person, we can see the need to support the losses that accompany a diagnosis of dementia or other disability.
